A Word from Your Editor

MarkIn my 27 years as CTC Newsletter Editor I can’t remember a colder winter.  We’ve had icier and snowier winters but the deep penetrating sub-freezing temperatures we’ve all been running in since early December have no rival.  I recently told the Ten Miler Training Program folks that their class has run in more sub 20 degree Saturdays than any other group in the 23 year history of the club’s oldest program.

The upshot of all this cold weather is just how tough you all have been.  I’m in awe of the positive and tenacious attitude of those newcomers who consistently show up on Saturday mornings, the veterans who hit the track throughout the week and those hearty racers who toed the starting line of the coldest Men’s Four Miler and New Year’s Day races in history.

What a great attitude…keep it up and you will be rewarded.  Spring is just around the corner!  See you at the races!

Happy Trails,
